What do you do at Momus (Your role in the business)?
I'm in charge of our film department. Right now I am mostly bringing in new scripts and ideas for the team to develop into short or feature length movies. Once a script is selected I begin the breakdown and development process, working in tandem with any writers or other outside sources on what they hope to accomplish with their piece. From there I transition to directorial or DP duties.
What is your role on set when not acting?
Directing and Cinematography.
What is your favorite film genre?
Probably Crime/Underworld Thriller.
Favorite film? Some favorites; The Place Beyond the Pines, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver (in no particular order).
Favorite TV show? Breaking Bad- a pinnacle of the power of episodic TV, character development and visual storytelling.
Favorite Song? Music is very mood based for me, particular feelings inspire particular playlists.
Favorite memory on set? As we were approaching wrap on our second-to-last day of filming for Zozo, we realized we had not choreographed our whole final fight scene. The space was tight and it was going to be a lot more technical than previously anticipated. Everyone was tired, hungry, and burnt out from the long day, so the cast and crew got rambunctious pretty quickly. But our team stayed the course, regained control, and tackled the choreo on the fly. The director and I had a solid plan in 20 minutes, which went off seamlessly the next day. A few of my favorite shots in the film were spawned in that moment.
What are you doing during the Quarantine? Mostly working nights. I have had a lot of free time to develop both my photo editing and writing skills.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Wherever I need to be to get where I'm trying to go.
What do you hope to accomplish with Momus?
I want to grow the scale of our content with the goal of expanding outreach and exposure for new artists throughout the entertainment industry.
